Biscuits and Sausage Gravy
Biscuits and Gravy
For the Biscuits:
I made the biscuits according to the Bisquick package, it called for
-2 cups Gluten Free Bisquick
-3 eggs
-1/3 cup shortening
-2/3 cup dairy free milk
For the Gravy:
1 lb. breakfast sausage
¼ cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
2–3 cups unsweetened plain dairy-free milk
plenty of black pepper
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Add in the Bisquick mix and shortening and use a fork to combine until the mixture looks like small peas. Add in the eggs and milk. Combine well. On a greased baking sheet drop the biscuits with a large spoon. It makes about 8. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
While the biscuits are cooking start on the gravy. Brown the breakfast sausage in a deep pan. Once it is all cooked, add in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Then add in the milk and allow the gravy to thicken. Add lots of black pepper. Let simmer on low for five minutes.
When the biscuits are done, add two to a shallow bowl. Top with the gravy and chives as a garnish. Enjoy!
